Kharkiv is holding Kharkiv: Development and Investment International Conference
The purpose of the event is to create a platform for cooperation between the state and local authorities and international partners and business representatives for implementation of joint projects to improve urban infrastructure and promote successful development of Ukraine.
The conference was opened by the Acting Mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov. He thanked the representatives of business, investors, international institutions that work in Kharkiv and develop the city.
Igor Terekhov noted that the main task of the city authorities is development of infrastructure and new industries. The Acting Mayor stressed that production of the modern Kharkiv tram and modernization of transport will facilitate localization of the world’s largest international brands. And the new waste treatment complex in Derhachi is an example of a unique environmental project implemented in cooperation with a large financial institution, which will enable the future generation to live in a comfortable city.
“We have ambitious goals ahead of us. Kharkiv needs reliable allies and partners. Many large projects have already been implemented. Kharkiv is one of the IT capitals of Ukraine, the heart and location of the ambitious project “Ukrainian Silicon Valley”. I really want young people, university graduates to stay in Kharkiv and to see their prosperous future in the most comfortable city. Our task is to provide them with prospects and jobs.
Now, our city is experiencing its industrial renaissance. Kharkiv is your reliable business partner. The city fulfills all obligations to investors, and all your investments will be successful. Investors can open their production here, and we will facilitate this process. The city professes a philosophy of openness. I want Kharkiv to be an investment-attractive city with a unique investment climate. To implement this, we will do everything possible,” said Igor Terekhov.
Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi, DCH Group President, stressed that the names of Kharkiv Conference participants confirm that the city is trusted. Large investors are considering projects in which they are willing to invest. He noted that Nathaniel Rothschild is ready to assist, using his knowledge and connections, in creation of the “Silicon Valley” in Kharkiv.
“This is Ecopolis HTZ, which is a billion-dollar project, and we are about to start its implementation. We have many opportunities. We will always be reliable partners for our friends,” said the DCH President at the opening.
Among the conference attendees and participants were Jean-Erik de Zagon, Head of the EIB Representation to Ukraine, Nathaniel Rothschild, Executive Chairman at Volex PLC, Claude Wild, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Ukraine, Peter Spuhler, President of the Board of Directors at Stadler Rail AG, representatives of line ministries, major Ukrainian businessmen, foreign investors, etc.
Participants discuss the investment potential of Kharkiv, public-private partnership, financing of municipal development, digital transformation, etc.
